What is a passkey and how do I use one to log in via web?
Passkeys generate a unique key on your device, offering a secure alternative to traditional password logins. They’re designed to enhance security and simplify the login process, as they can’t be shared or stored externally in any way. Some of the benefits of this new authentication method include:
- Enhanced security: passkeys use biometric data or a PIN, which are considered more secure than traditional passwords. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your Skrill account.
- Convenience: no need to remember complex passwords or have the Skrill mobile app installed. Simply use your fingerprint, face recognition, or a PIN to log in quickly and easily.
- Passkeys never expire. You can use them for as long as you want.
- Fast access: log in to your Skrill account instantly without the hassle of typing in username and password.
- Protection against phishing: as you don't enter a password, there's no risk of it being stolen through phishing attacks.
- Multi-device support: you can set up passkeys on multiple devices, allowing you to securely access your Skrill account from any of your trusted devices.
Your biometric data isn’t shared with us and doesn’t leave your device.

- you have an active (not restricted) Skrill account. If you don't have one, you can sign up at Skrill's registration page.
