Can I cancel a pending transaction made with my Skrill Visa® Prepaid Card?

When you make a purchase with your Skrill Visa® Prepaid Card, funds are initially put aside until we receive the final confirmation from the merchant. During this timeframe, you will see the status of your transaction as Pending in your Skrill account. If the transaction is completed successfully, it will get accepted and funds will be debited from your Skrill account balance.

If the transaction was not completed successfully, it might take up to 7 calendar days (30 calendar days for travel & entertainment merchants) for the transaction to expire and for the funds to be credited back to your available Skrill account balance.

Some merchants that qualify as Entertainment and Travel are (but not limited to): Airline Bookings, Cruise Line Bookings, Hotels/Motel Reservations, Travel Agencies/Tour Operators and Passenger Railway Bookings, Automobile/Vehicle Rentals.

Unfortunately, Skrill cannot cancel a pending transaction manually. In case your purchase attempt was not successfully completed, and you wish to cancel this pending transaction, please contact the merchant, and have the transaction cancelled from their end.

Transaction pre-authorization

Some merchants (gas stations, merchants where tipping is a common practice, merchants who collect a deposit in advance etc.) may preauthorize an amount greater than the final transaction amount. Such preauthorization will place a hold on a portion of your available balance until the merchant provides us with the final payment amount of your purchase. Bear in mind that this process might take up to 7-10 business days. During this period, you would not be able to use the preauthorized amount.

When using the Skrill Visa® Prepaid Card at a gas station it is recommended that you pay inside. By paying inside you will avoid having an additional portion of your balance being unavailable due to preauthorization for a certain period.

The Skrill Visa® Prepaid Card is issued by Community Federal Savings Bank, member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa USA Inc.
