Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong. Take two minutes to learn more.

To comply with tax reporting standards and regulations, we are required to collect tax identification details from customers who use our crypto services.

What information do I need to submit?

You will be required to provide your residency details along with your Tax Identification Number (Tax ID or TIN). This number is a unique identifier used by tax authorities to ensure compliance. Each country has its own version, which may be known by different names. For more details, refer to your local tax authorities.

If you have multiple tax residencies, you must provide information for each country. To do this, select the ‘I have a secondary tax residence country.’ checkbox while filling out the form.

To submit the information, simply log in to the Skrill website and navigate to the Crypto section.

When do I have to provide my tax information?

If you’re located in an EEA (European Economic Area) country, you’ll have a 60-day grace period with full access to crypto services. If you haven’t submitted your Tax ID and residency details after this timeframe, your crypto transactions will be restricted until the information is submitted.

In case you reside outside the EEA, crypto services will be restricted, and you will be required to submit your Tax ID and residency information before making any crypto transactions.

Do I need to provide these details if I haven’t made crypto transactions?

You will be required to provide the above-mentioned information only in case you:

  • have previously made crypto transactions
  • wish to buy, sell, or withdraw crypto

What will happen to my crypto balance if I don’t provide tax information?

If you fail to provide the required information after your crypto services are restricted, any remaining crypto balance will be eventually converted to your primary fiat currency as per the exchange rates at the time of conversion.

Will this affect my account or other services?

No. This requirement only applies to crypto transactions. Other services remain unaffected.
