How do I withdraw money to crypto wallet?
You can send money from your available Skrill fiat balance to an external crypto wallet by following these steps:
- Visit the Withdraw section in your Skrill account and select Crypto wallet.
- Select the fiat balance you wish to withdraw from and your preferred crypto currency and network combination. Enter the transaction amount to continue.
- Enter the crypto wallet address and mark if it’s a custodial or non-custodial one. For custodial wallets you’ll see an additional menu to select the wallet/exchange name. Enter the destination tag and continue.
- Review the transaction summary and confirm your withdrawal. You may be asked to enter your 6-digit account PIN for verification.
Note:
- You can only withdraw fiat balance (EUR, USD, etc.) to an external crypto wallet. If you want to withdraw your crypto balance, first sell it for fiat via our crypto trade page.
- Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed. Ensure you enter a valid crypto address when executing the withdrawal.
- Your account should be fully verified to perform a crypto withdrawal.
What are the supported networks and crypto wallet addresses?
We’re constantly expanding our supported currencies and networks. You can see the most up-to-date list on the first step upon initiating a transaction.
Note:
- Bitcoin (BTC) is supported for:
- Native SegWit (bech32) addresses — starting with bc1
- Nested SegWit addresses — starting with 3
- Legacy addresses — starting with 1
- Tether (USDT) is not available in EEA countries
- Some crypto currencies or wallets may require specific address formats or tags (e.g., destination tags or memos).
The tag is a unique identifier often used by exchanges or platforms to credit the correct customer account when crypto is sent to a shared wallet address.
Not all wallets need a tag though. Such examples are privately controlled wallets (e.g., those on desktops or hardware devices) as they are fully managed by the person controlling both the public and private keys. If you're unsure whether your wallet is public or private, contact the support of your crypto wallet provider to confirm this.
What are the fees?
All applicable fees will be displayed via the transaction summary screen. A network fee may also be applied, which is beyond our control. It is paid to crypto miners and validators for verifying transactions on the blockchain and keeping the network secure. This fee is deducted from the total amount of your withdrawal so you may receive a lesser amount than expected.
Why is my balance not available for withdrawing money to crypto wallet?
Money deposited with Mastercard may not be available for crypto wallet withdrawals in some countries. Make sure to read any disclaimer displayed to you when transacting on Skrill.
How long does it take to receive the transfer?
Blockchain transactions usually take between 5 and 60 minutes to appear in the recipient crypto wallet.
In rare cases, your transaction may remain pending for up to 24 hours. If the withdrawal fails, we will notify you on-screen or send an e-mail notification once the transaction status is updated.
