How do I place an instant buy or sell crypto order?
The Skrill Cryptocurrency Service is currently available in selected countries only. If you don’t see a Crypto section in your account, this means you can’t perform crypto transactions
You can buy or sell crypto by creating an instant order at any time. We are constantly expanding our supported crypto-currencies, and our rates are very competitive by comparison to the average market rates.
To buy cryptocurrency:
- Visit the Trade tab of the Crypto section in your Skrill account.
- Select Buy with Instant order.
- Select the cryptocurrency you wish to buy and enter the spend/receive amount. If the entered amount, is below the minimum, it will be displayed onscreen.
- The fees, exchange rate, and the total spend amount will be displayed via the transaction summary page.

To sell cryptocurrency:
- Visit the Trade tab of the Crypto section in your Skrill account.
- Select Sell with Instant order.
- Select the cryptocurrency you wish to sell and enter the sell amount.
- The fees, exchange rate, and the total receive amount will be displayed via the transaction summary page.

Note:
- Some of the available cryptocurrencies (DSSH, ATOM amongst others) can be exchanged against Bitcoin only.
- The minimum Buy/Sell amount varies depending on the selected cryptocurrency and is displayed upon initiating a trade.
What is crypto spread?
When trading crypto, you will notice that a cryptocurrency’s buy price is typically higher than its sell price at the same moment in time. This price difference is referred to as the spread.
The market data in the Crypto section of your account shows the crypto buy price rates. However, the value of your crypto portfolio is calculated and displayed based on the current sell prices. This is why you will normally see your crypto portfolio value become negative right after buying crypto.
Keep in mind that if the primary currency of your Skrill account is other than EUR, your crypto transactions will be subject to currency conversion and a foreign exchange fee included in the buy/sell price. For more information, visit our fees page.
