Do I need to verify my identity?
You can use your Skrill account without verifying your details to send and receive funds up to a limited amount. When you reach this limit, as a regulated financial institution, we are required to verify your identity. Verification increases trust between us. It makes us confident that you are who you say you are and that you’re located where you say you are located.
An easy way to ensure you have continuous access to all your Skrill wallet benefits is to actively complete your identity verification.
To verify your identity, we would usually require documentation, such as a picture of your ID and face and/or a proof of your address.
Note: Additional documents may be requested if any details have been changed or if there are any discrepancies between your registration details and the documents you have provided.
As a regulated financial institution, we are required to collect some additional information about you, such as your source of wealth and primary intent of use for Skrill. You’ll be asked to confirm this data right after you’ve started the verification process. Please make sure the information you provide is correct and up to date.
See our Privacy Notice for more information on how we process your personal data, as well as how you can exercise your rights in relation to your personal information.
Please keep in mind that your transactions are subject to certain limits. If you've reached your current limits and your account hasn't yet been verified, we'll ask you to complete the verification process before you can continue with your payments.
If you have any questions about your limits or the status of your verification, you can check these details within the Settings > Verification section of your account, or check out the related articles below.
