AC Milan signing Alessandro Florenzi has revealed all about his new teammates, describing Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a “phenomenon”.
The 30-year-old – who's recently recovered from injury – joined the Rossoneri in the summer on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
Speaking exclusively to Skrill News, the full back – who played a part in Italy’s Euro 2020 victory – has spoken highly about settling in at the club and his new teammates.
We asked Florenzi which player would be the standout star for AC Milan this season.
He said: “If I have to say a name, for age, growth potential, characteristics, and physicality, I’d say Rafael Leao: he has everything he needs to become a super footballer.”
Florenzi also praised teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, saying he is still among the best in the world.
He said: "Ibra is a phenomenon. An incredible footballer. The things he has done in football – and continues to do – are crazy.
Training with him makes you understand how he can always be at the top of the game even at the threshold of 40 years.
He’s definitely among the best in the world. Both for what he has won, but also for the leadership, charisma and winning mentality he brings to the team. He always gives 100%, even in training, and he pushes you to do the same every day."
Florenzi spent last season in the French capital on loan at Paris Saint-Germain from his parent club Roma, making 21 appearances.
The defender trained and played with French superstar Kylian Mbappé, who was the subject of heavy transfer speculation linking him with a move away from the French giants last summer.
Florenzi said: "He (Mbappé) is one of the best footballers in the world. I was lucky enough to play with him and also to train with him.
He has monstrous potential and age is on his side. He can become the absolute number one, and if one day he were to come and play in Serie A, it would be a great addition to any team."
