Player signings can often seem like they have been finalised, but until everything has gone through, anything can happen.

Here are some of the biggest transfer twists this year.

Marc Cucurella to Chelsea

There was an agreement between Cucurella and Manchester City on personal terms, but City decided to leave the race as they did not agree with more than £40m to Brighton. Chelsea joined the race, and within two days and after some short negotiations, managed to sign Cucurella.

Casemiro to Manchester United

It was a complicated window for United, but then at the end they made a top signing with Casemiro, one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. It was surprising because Manchester United were targeting different players, then within a few days, heard of a chance to sign Casemiro and moved very quickly, convincing him to pick United over Real Madrid for a contract until 2026.

Bremer to Juventus

Bremer was one step away from joining Inter Milan, the deal had been there since January and looked set to happen, but it was not completed. Juventus hijacked the move in the last few days and made a successful signing for €41m plus add-ons.
