How do I pay online with Skrill?

Copied to clipboard

Skrill Checkout is a quick and convenient way to pay a merchant directly from your wallet account. Depending on what the merchant supports, you can usually pay using your available wallet balance, or use an available funding option for your account.
Merchant payments are usually instant. We do not charge a fee for sending money to a merchant, although a currency conversion fee may apply if the payment involves a different currency.

Before you start, make sure the following requirements are complete:
•    Your account is active and has no restrictions.
•    Your account may also need to be verified, depending on the merchant or regulatory requirements.
•    It is also worth checking that you have enough available balance in your wallet and that the merchant accepts Skrill payments from your country.
•    Your personal details with us should also match the details registered on the merchant’s website.

To pay online follow the steps below:
1.    Go to the merchant’s website and initiate a deposit
2.    Select Skrill as your payment method and enter the desired amount.
3.    Log in with your Skrill details and choose how you want to pay: with your available balance, with a debit/credit card or use a local instant deposit option.
For information on offered deposit options, refer to the related FAQ articles linked below.
4.    Review the payment details, select Pay now, and complete any security checks shown on screen (verification code, PIN, push notification, Strong Customer Authentication). You can refer to the articles below for detailed explanation on authentication and security.

You can mark the merchant as trusted by selecting Trust this recipient for future payments to avoid this process in the future.

Some merchants may require additional verification to fund your account with them: video verification, also known as live selfie. When this is required, you'll be able to start the process from section Settings > Verification. Check out the related article at the bottom of the page to find out more.

For transactions involving currency conversion Skrill adds a fee to our wholesale exchange rates.
