How can I change the currency of my Skrill account?
Skrill allows you to hold multiple balances in different currencies. Explore your options before making a decision:
Change your primary balance
To change the currency of your primary balance, close your existing account and create a new one in the desired currency. Keep in mind that you would lose access to your transaction history, and any current Skrill card linked to the account will be deactivated.
To proceed, follow these steps:
- Withdraw or spend any remaining balance, including crypto.
- Close your old account by logging in from a web browser and navigating to Settings > Account Settings > Account Status > Close Account.
- Register a new account with the desired primary currency, using a different email address.
If you have difficulties re-using payment instruments or phone numbers previously registered with your old account, use the contact form below to let us know so we can assist you.
Add a secondary balance to your account
You can add secondary balances in different currencies to your Skrill account. To create a new currency balance, go to Exchange, select the desired currency, and enter the amount you want to exchange.
Alternatively, you can deposit funds into your account directly in the desired currency. Go to Add money, select the currency and payment method, enter the amount and complete the deposit.
You can see your secondary balances on your Dashboard.
