What is a PIN and how can I reset it?
PIN Authentication is an additional security feature that helps you increase the security level of your Skrill account. The PIN is sometimes used for additional authentication when you log in or complete a transaction.
If you enter a wrong PIN too many times:
- upon login, you’ll be asked to reset it to continue using Skrill
- upon a transaction, you’ll be locked out of your account for a certain period; allow for some time to pass and try again or contact us to assist you further.
How do I set up my PIN Authentication?
Setting up a 6-digit PIN is the final step of your account creation. You won’t be able to make any transactions before completing this step. If you log out of your account, you’ll be asked to set up your PIN upon your next login.
Important requirements for the PIN:
- PIN must be 6 digits
- PIN must not contain 6 repeating digits (e.g. 111111)
- PIN must not contain 6 consecutive ascending or descending digits (e.g. 123456 or 654321)
You’ll see a message if you enter a weak PIN and will be asked to create a new one.
When you use a new device to log in or send money to a new recipient, you'll be asked to confirm your PIN code. If you trust the device or the recipient, you can mark them as 'trusted', and you won't be asked to confirm your PIN next time.

I didn’t receive the PIN reset email. What should I do?
The reset link is sent via an automated email, which may often end up in your Spam, Junk, or Deleted folder. To ensure you receive such emails:
• Check all your inbox folders
• Add <skrill@notifications.skrill.com> to your address list
• Check with your provider if there are any restrictions on incoming emails, and ask them for assistance
Less known domains may have issues with receiving emails from Skrill. If you're using a provider other than Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, Protonmail and iCloud and you don't receive Skrill auto emails, update your email address.
