How does automated Skrill Prepaid Mastercard® renewal work?
The Skrill Prepaid Mastercard® is available only to residents of authorized European Economic Area (EEA) countries and the UK.
To ease customers, we have implemented a process for free automatic renewal of Skrill Cards performed in the cards’ expiration month and year written on them.
Am I eligible for an automated Skrill Card renewal?
We notify all eligible users via e-mail or push notification two months in advance for physical cards and one month in advance for virtual cards. We'll automatically renew your card if:
- You hold an active Skrill account when the card renewal is due.
- Your Skrill account balance is not below zero.
- Your Skrill Card is operational at the time it is due to expire.
- You have covered the Skrill Card annual fees for all previous years (applicable for physical cards only).
- You’ve made at least one successful Skrill Card transaction within 6 months prior to your card’s expiration date (applicable for virtual cards only).
Can I receive my physical Skrill Card renewal at a new address?
To receive your card at a new address, log in via a web browser, visit the section Settings > Personal details and edit your address. Ensure you update your address before we dispatch your Skrill card for delivery, otherwise, it will be sent to your current account address.
When will I receive my renewal Skrill Card?
- Physical card
We'll dispatch your new physical card for delivery on the 2nd of your existing card’s expiry month. For example, if your current card expires on September 31st, we'll send your renewal card on September 2nd. The renewal card is sent via regular postal service with a delivery timeframe of 15 business days. Once we dispatch your card for delivery, we`ll send a confirmation to your registered email address.
- Virtual card
We’ll renew your card one day before the last calendar day of your card’s expiry month. For example, if your current virtual card expires on December 31st, we will replace it in your Skrill account with your new card on December 30th. Your new virtual card will be active and available for use right away.
Can I opt out of card renewal?
To opt out of renewal for your physical card, visit the section Skrill Card > Physical card > Decline card renewal. You can unsubscribe as early as three months before your card expires. If a new card has already been dispatched for your account, you won't be able to cancel the card renewal.
For virtual Skrill Cards, there is no option to opt out of renewal. Should you wish to, you can cancel your current card by going to the section Skrill Card > Virtual card > Cancel card and this will automatically make your account non-eligible for automated virtual card renewal.
