Fabrizio Romano is an acclaimed journalist whose coverage of the football transfer window has been featured by leading news publishers, including The Guardian and Sky Sport.

Here in his Skrill column, he shares the latest transfer news and insights. Watch his video below to find out which three deals might come true before the January window closes.

Fabrizio Romano

1. Denis Zakaria

The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder ends his contract next June, and he's already told the club that he doesn't want to extend it.

Bundesliga and Premier League clubs would like him as a free agent for June, and Manchester United had conversations with his agents in December.

There is still no decision from Manchester United on whether or not to buy a midfielder in January, but Zakaria's name remains on their list, and Ralf Rangnick really values him.

2. Emerson Palmieri

The left back is on loan from Chelsea to Olympique Lyonnais, but the English club hasn't included a 'recall clause' in the contract.

That's why OL don't intend to accept Chelsea's offers to immediately take back Emerson after Ben Chilwell's injury.

Three approaches have already been turned down, but Chelsea will want to try again. Tuchel would like Emerson, but it won't be easy.

3. Adama Traoré

Adama Traoré isn't an easy deal, as Wolverhampton manager Bruno Lage would like to keep him until the end of the current season.

However, Tottenham want him as they need a new winger for Conte; Adama would be perfect. The idea is to offer a loan with a mandatory option to buy – but there is still no economic agreement between the clubs. Work is in progress.
