Why do I need to verify my account?
Verification makes us confident that you say who you are and that you are located where you say you are located. Verification allows us to do more for you, such as increasing or even removing the limits applied to your account.
I have used the account without any problems till now. Why am I suddenly asked to verify it?
We are obligated to complete certain verifications on their customers and their transactions. When you reach a certain volume of transactions, in accordance with our responsibilities as an FCA regulated financial institution and for security reasons, we are required to verify your identity.
I have already verified my account; why do I have to complete additional verification steps?
Our verification process is designed to be fully compliant with out regulatory requirements as a regulated payment processing company. To comply with regulations, we are required to verify the identity and personal details of our customers. This also serves to enhance the security of your Skrill account. Additional verification also allows you to process more transactions in and out of your account.
I am not prompted to complete a verification. Can I still, proactively do it?
An easy way to ensure you have continuous access to all your wallet benefits is to actively complete your identity verification. To complete the verification of your account, simply add money to your account and click on the verifications tab in ‘Settings’ and follow the onscreen instructions.
How can I check if my account is verified?
To check if your account is verified, simply navigate to “Limits & Verification” in the “Settings” tab once you have logged into your Skrill account.
What happens if I do not provide the documents being requested for verification?
Payments are subject to payment limits due to security and legal requirements. These limits are set dynamically depending on your verification status. In case your limits are not sufficient to cover the payment you intend to make, we won’t be able to proceed with the payment processing unless you provide the requested documents.
I have a problem with my identity verifications. Can I just switch it with another verification?
All members go through the same verification process by providing valid proof of their identity and address documents. If you are facing technical or other difficulties with the verification process, please contact our Help Team to assist you with it.
